SUSAN ANDERSON TRIBUTE
by David Aback
Shareholders Meeting - February 25, 2026
We are here today to honor Sue Anderson who has served Lake Shore Park and its residents for many years.
Sue has been a permanent resident in the Park for 25 years, who has lived at Unit 122 for many of those years. I got to know Sue about 20 years ago. My mother owned Unit 127 and our family used to spend a couple of weeks a year and as Sue was a very close neighbor, we got to know her. My mother spoke very highly of Sue.
Sue served on the Board of Directors for 15 years, 8 years as President. I worked with her for the 8 years I have been on the Board as Vice President. Sue’s focus was on the well-being of the Park, and she worked tirelessly for those many years, without looking for acclaim for herself.
In April, all Board member head back up north except for Sue. All those many years she has single-handedly attended to the affairs of the Park (during the summer months). I really don’t know what we would do without Sue.
Even though Sue retired from the Board a couple of months ago because of major health issues, she is now rebounding to better health and has agreed to remain on the Building & Grounds Committee so she will be able to continue helping the Park in the summer.
Aside from her work on the Board of Directors, she has been an outstanding friend and neighbor, always ready to help residents in need; taking residents to doctor appointments, picking people up at the airport, visiting the sick in the hospital. Sue would never say “no”.
She had a lot of patience. One example is taking an elderly resident shopping to the Dollar Store. This was the only place the resident wanted to shop. Seems like an easy task … not with this lady! A trip to the Dollar Store could take up to 2 hours as she had to go up and down every aisle and she moved at a snail’s pace. And this was at least a bi-weekly endeavor. I know because I took on the task a few times.
This was Sue’s dedication to the Park and neighbors. She may be a small lady but she had a big heart! On behalf of the Board of Directors, Sue was presented with a monetaryenvelope and floral plant in honor of her years of service on the Board.
